Chris Churchill was born in St. John's, Newfoundland. His father was a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force and was posted to the airbase at Comox B.C in 1967. Chris grew up in the Comox Valley and graduated from George P. Vanier High School. After high school he worked in the pulp and paper industry and travelled throughout the south pacific before attending the University of Victoria where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in 1986. After another period of work and travel in Central America, Chris was accepted to study law at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He graduated with his law degree in 1992.
After law school Chris then returned to Vancouver Island to pursue his law career.
In early 1993, he was very pleased to have MacIsaac & Company in Nanaimo accept him as an articled student.
After completion of his articles, and his call to the B.C. bar in early 1994, MacIsaac & Company offered Chris a position as an associate lawyer. Chris happily accepted and worked as an associate lawyer with MacIsaac & Company for over 2 years doing both criminal and civil litigation.
In 1996 Chris decided it was time to strike out on his own and set up his own law firm. Chris continues to this day as a sole practitioner and his current practice is exclusively focused on criminal defence work. Over the years Chris has found it very rewarding to assist and defend his clients in a wide variety of criminal matters, from simple shop-lifting cases through to the most complex and serious cases such as first degree murder.
Chris's experience is invaluable in bringing successful resolutions to people's unfortunate and often serious criminal law problems.
Chris's office is conveniently located next door to the Nanaimo Law Courts at 55 Front Street.
